First, thank you to r/running. I had a noob post here like two weeks ago about times, and every one of you was awesomely positive in your replies.
On to the shoes. I use runkeeper, (sorry if we should not 'promote' an app) and they are doing a thing where if you do 4 miles they donate a pair of shoes to a little kid. So I said I was going to get some kid a pair of shoes, and I did!
I ended up slowing down just a little more than my already slow pace, but screw that, I did 4.25 miles and got some kid some shoes.
Just wanted to share, say thanks for the encouragement on my last post, and let people know if they have the app or want to try it, they can help some kids out. Also, if anyone knows of a similar charity type of thing, let me know, please.
