New to running and dealing with some pain. Heads up, I am going to be talking about my balls.

Maybe I'll wish I used a throwaway for this... Anyway, here goes:

I've been running for maybe a month now, and things have been okay. Over two and a half miles, every other day, average pace of ten minutes a mile and steadily improving. But my left testicle is starting to hurt. Not too much during the run, but definitely throughout the day. For all I know the two may be unrelated, but I don't think so. I typically run in standard cotton boxer briefs, but maybe I need better support. I've been reading about compressions shorts, but support doesn't seem to be their key function. I have a doctor's appointment early in February, so I can ask then if the pain persists, but I'd like some suggestions from you folks to see if I can fix the problem before then. I really don't want to lose any of the progress I've made so far.
