Have you ever had an unexpected event, stumbled into a bush, realised your clothing was torn, missed your race, missed out or added a lap accidentally, waved to someone who wasnât waving at you..
Here is the place to share and bond over unfortunate mishaps - embarrassing or otherwise
Iâll go first: My first ever 800m race. Apparently stepped a foot into someone elseâs lane near the start without realising, but then continued to run and got my PB time. Celebrated at the end, only to look up at the screen and see that I was disqualified. Ouch.
Fast forward to now, when I found out I have balance issues related to anxiety / sensory overload, and I no longer feel shame about it, but itâs still a painful memory. I remember 12 year old me sitting on the floor in my room that night googling âdisqualified famous runners in racesâ while crying to try and make myself feel better!! I mostly felt bad for âletting my team downâ. Thanks rejection sensitive dysphoria
