Post Body

Have you ever had an unexpected event, stumbled into a bush, realised your clothing was torn, missed your race, missed out or added a lap accidentally, waved to someone who wasn’t waving at you..

Here is the place to share and bond over unfortunate mishaps - embarrassing or otherwise

I’ll go first: My first ever 800m race. Apparently stepped a foot into someone else’s lane near the start without realising, but then continued to run and got my PB time. Celebrated at the end, only to look up at the screen and see that I was disqualified. Ouch.

Fast forward to now, when I found out I have balance issues related to anxiety / sensory overload, and I no longer feel shame about it, but it’s still a painful memory. I remember 12 year old me sitting on the floor in my room that night googling “disqualified famous runners in races” while crying to try and make myself feel better!! I mostly felt bad for ‘letting my team down’. Thanks rejection sensitive dysphoria
