How long of a break did you take after a big race?

Post Body

Whether that race was a 5k or a ultra, did you fall off the wagon or did you keep it going? I was running pretty consistently for a couple years leading up to my first marathon last May. In the year since, I'd be surprised if I've put in any more than a 100 miles. I'm starting to ramp back up, and I have gotten super out of shape compared to where I was when I ran those glorious 26.2 miles. So I'm just wondering how all of you fared after your big race.

Comments

I felt really low after my first (and only) marathon and noticed my mileage really drop off in the next 6 months. Even now, almost 2 years later Iā€™m not where I was, mentally it affected me more than I realised it would.
