Introduction / Premise:
Over the years, Jagex has occasionally released items that generate NPCs, especially in particular those with a yellow dot on the map.
I've only noticed a few, but every time I try to research it, I never seem to find any list of items which feature either a pseudo-NPC (no yellow dot) or an actual NPC.
I was hoping to reach out to the awesome community of r/runescape to see if anyone else knows of some, that way when the next person searches to see what items have that affect (myself included), there's finally a list.
Distinctive characteristics:
There are 6 characteristics I feel would be good to note while making this list:
- What is the name of the item?
- How is the item obtained / is it still obtainable?
- Does the NPC show up on the minimap?
- Can others see the NPC?
- How long (roughly) does the NPC last?
- What does it do, or what is its function, if any?
Additionally, I should note two characteristics that won't be added:
- Follower items. (Because there's already lists for those and they're a bit different, being followers.)
- Dialogue-only items. (Items that don't generate an NPc, but rather just a chat dialogue.)
Please reply with anything that isn't on the list and I'll be sure to add it. Thanks!
