The BACARDÍ Reserva 8 Year Old is one I really enjoy, I have had the mount gay eclipse which I really enjoyed too, the el dorado 12 year was a bit too oaky/bourbon intense for me but I didn't mind it too much, just not my go to flavour of choice.
I like natural sweetness and spice, I don't like the younger cheaper barcadi's or as I call them, lighter fluid. I wasn't a fan of black kraken either.
I've come to realise that I might just enjoy younger rums (up to 8 years) or tequila's, for example I love the altos plata tequila with all my heart but not the reposado by the same brand which is aged longer. But my palette is evolving with time so who knows what I'll like in future.
I am open to trying anything so long as it's not in the triple digits in price, as I can't afford that right now.
Things I have my eyes on trying:
Smith & cross, plantation XO, doorly's 12.
Any suggestions?
