Drying a Rug - best method?
Post Body

Hi all. I have a 7ft by 9 ft persian carpet. It is made from goats wool and 400knots per inch. I want to wash it but before I do, wondered how best to dry it out. I had a friend who tried to wash his wool carpet and he was unable to dry it out quickly enough so the wool began to smell and fester.

My plan will be to wash it on a sunny day, using a poly tarp on my driveway, hose and brush etc....but how to dry it? I though I could hang it on a rail and let nature do its thing, provided I have a decent weather window? I do not have any specialist kit or tools, only what can be bought at a hardware store.

Any advice welcome!
