Where would you find your first job?

Or where did you have your first job as a web developer / programmer? All I see is, 4 years experience this, degree in Computer Science that... Where do I go if I have none of that?

I am in the process of learning Ruby and Ruby on Rails. After that I plan on learning Javascript / CSS / MySql.... I really don't plan on stopping but I do want to work for someone. I am going to build a couple of my own sites to build a portfolio of sorts and then what?

Edit: Thank you everyone for your help / responses. I got a lot of work to do lol

P.S. I am willing to bust my ass to learn anything to do anything.
