there is a time and a place for it but the over prescription of birth control to women is diabolical, and the root cause of many of their ailments. from a young age they tell us that there are virtually no downsides to chemically castrating yourself, when the truth is that your mood, sexuality and personality is largely affected by your hormones and fucking with them will by all means alter them.
yeah thereâs such an discrepancy between different gynos, i had one that tried to talk me out of taking my hormonal iud out because she said there was âliterally no downsidesâ, after Iâd just spent ten minutes describing all the side effects Iâd had from it lol
i was put on birth control for extreme cramps and irregular periods in my teens. now I know they were most likely caused by being severely underweight but not a single medical professional suggested that might be the case. they love prescribing this shit instead of figuring out the root cause of womens health issues.
my best friend is a nurse at a gyn ward and sheâs observed similar things. she also had to sit through a lecture about endometriosis where the lecturer spent half the time talking about how much worse medical care was for non binaryâs and how much more discriminated against they are than âcisâ women lol
you know this is usually not the case, and even in the cases that they do itâs often heavily downplayed. the main issue I have is not even the symptoms themselves, but that women are not taught how their cycle works, and the potential reasons they might be experiencing pain, excessive bleeding or lack thereof. we trust our doctors to do whatâs best for us, but rather than trying to find out what could cause hormonal discrepancies theyâre very eager to prescribe this one fix that yes alleviates some symptoms, but causes others and completely obliterates our natural hormonal cycle. they also downplay and completely ignore how much hormones affect who we are and will prescribe it to us because it doesnât matter if weâre miserable or apathetic as long as we can have sex without risking pregnancy. thereâs a reason these hormones are commonly used to prevent pregnancy in women, but are only used to chemically castrate men who are convicted sexual predators.
thereâs basically a 12-24h window every cycle were women can get pregnant, as long as you avoid it a few days before and during ovulation the risk of getting pregnant is virtually nonexistent. as long as she knows her cycle well enough that is.
itâs crazy we have to basically figure out what wrong with us ourselves and then beg them to prescribe the treatment needed instead of them helping us in the first place. even the better doctors has had a very hands off approach and basically just been susceptible to my suggestions, but never making any on their own.
itâs really weird to because the big study that concluded that estrogen caused cancer has been widely debunked, and recent studies that iâve read canât find a link between cancer and bio-identical estrogen at all, while the medical risks of transitioning is far more common and well recorded (although rarely brought up)
sometimes birth control is necessary, but if itâs possible I would try to change doctors because itâs important to figure out if you do have it. working out, having a healthy diet and avoiding certain foods has helped, for some reason eating gluten and sugar triggers extreme cramps for me so I avoid that so maybe see if you have some kind of food sensitivity? celiac, chrons and ibs can make your body unable to take up nutrients which can cause irregular or absent periods or excessive cramps as well. hope you figure it out I know how frustrating it can be but donât give upâ¤ď¸
if you want, but iâd recommend a copper iud. i had one for years and had no issues
iâm not anti that hormonal birth control exists and think it should be an option, but i am against it being prescribed to young women without them realising how it can alter the natural state of their minds and bodies
so true medical professionals would never overzealously prescribe drugs to anyone instead of figuring out and fixing the root cause
yeah i genuinely did not have any issues with it for a long time or so i thought until like 3 years in i realised how apathetic Iâd become. I also started storing fat weird, in my arms and upper back, constantly bloated, lethargic and absent minded. it really creeped up on me so i didnât even notice until i started getting weird cramps and began looking in to it.. i always hated having a cycle before but now i love it, makes me feel very in tune with myself. obviously not everyone will have issues with it but i just think itâs important to know that there can be side effects and you might not even be able to tell
someone in the comments were talking about getting a low dose progesterone prescription instead of bc, but from what Iâve heard doctors are reluctant to prescribe hrt to biological women for some reasonđ
i was very concerned about that too, but surprisingly i had no issues at all, if anything my periods were lighter than before. i had some cramping, but not worse than when i was on bc or the hormonal iud. itâs different for everyone though just like with bc, my friend had to take hers out because excessive bleeding but most people i know whoâs had it had a good experience. i think you just hear about the horror stories more
yeah i said this in another comment comment too but you still only ovulate for 24 hours at most and sperm can live up to 5 days inside you, so if you know your cycle and avoid having sex during that time itâs a very effective form of contraceptive
yeah itâs def something thatâs better fitted for ltr, but i think it would do most women good to know their cycle and when theyâre ovulating in general. feels like i know myself and my mood so much better
yes it is, you can only get pregnant when youâre ovulating which you typically do once a month, and sperm can survive up to five days. most women do not know their cycle well or itâs not consistent enough to use this method though.
not sure what point youâre trying to make :/
because its framed as something positive and, freeing and âwomen taking charge of their sexualityâ, when itâs the opposite imo. whether itâs used to suppress symptoms for underlying medical issues, or so you can have sex without any actual commitment, it feels like women draw the short end of the stick. unfortunately most women are docile and submissive, even more so when on these types of medications or ssris. our trusting nature is being taken advantage of by big pharma and liberal elitesâđ
copper iud might affect your hormones a little bit, but it will not disrupt your natural cycle. iâve heard a lot of horror stories, but i had a very good experience and according to several gyns iâve talked to most women donât get any extreme side effects, itâs more that the women who did are usually more vocal about it
i started getting periods almost immediately but getting a regular and consistent cycle took almost a year
i only stopped taking hormones like three years ago and by then i was at a normal weight but i stopped eating gluten and avoid sugar which has helped. just quit nicotine as well because messes with your estrogen. boron supplements are also great, but i would definitely recommend to see a doctor
exactly, my grandmother actually got ovarian cancer this way so when my mom went through menopause doctors basically refused to prescribe it to her despite modern treatments showing no indication of causing it. horrible itâs still being spread as facts
youâre stating things iâve already disclosed, itâs still a good method if you know your body which more women would if they werenât put on bc and were taught about their natural cycle.

itâs funny how itâs so difficult to find a doctor whoâll prescribe hrt to correct womenâs natural cycles, but no questions asked when someone wants hrt to transition
