I'm a white American who lived in India for 2 years when I was in middle school for my parent's work. In short, I hated it. Hot, sticky, buildings were falling apart, everyone treated me weird because I was white. It was not a fun experience and I do not look back on it fondly.

However, India isn't THAT bad. I've travelled a lot of places and even though I know the India sucks thing is all jokes it seems some people genuinely believe that India is the worst country on earth or something. India's a disgusting shithole, but you're underestimating how much of Africa and Asia is also a disgusting shithole. There are worse places. The Philippines, Pakistan, Nigeria are all about as irredeemable as India.
