I’m so happy that I’m not legally bound to my lord’s land. I’m so happy that my family wasn’t captured into war slavery. I’m so happy I can work for a relatively warm house, food that I know won’t poison me and water that is drinkable. I’m so happy that the Internet gives me free and instant access to thousands of years of knowledge and culture. I’m so happy that I can carry the gift of live music in my pocket and listen to it whenever I want. I’m so happy that I can have sex and fall in love without the government or the church executing me. I’m so happy I can run around outside and know a scratch wouldn’t be a death sentence. I know that not everywhere in the world has these luxuries but if you live in the developed/middle income world, I think everyone should be more appreciative of how lucky we are today 💕
