I was looking at the We Are All Us modules available from Chaosium and noticed something in The Sword of Kings for 7th Sea by John Wick that is so incredibly true but so often overlooked.
"Whenever I run GM seminars at conventions, I always advocate a simple strategy: don’t have a plan, have contingencies. What does that mean? Well, you know how it goes. As a GM, you sit up all night making a plan for your players. Then, when they hit the first fork in the road, they go in a direction you never planned on. And there goes your plan, right out the window. So, don’t have a plan. Have contingencies."
Truer words have never been spoken and it is the absolute BEST advice I or anyone else can ever give or receive about running any game.
Just wanted to share.
