When magic flows through the air as if a form of weather what are some possible side effects?

Obviously random spells could be cast on people or objects or other living things. But beyond that what are some other side effects this could have on a world. I have decided this will be in existence in my world that I'm DMing and I'm brainstorming for the first campaign.
