So today, I guy I hadn't heard from in 20 years reached out to me. We were in the service together and he always ment to reach out but couldnt remember how to spell my name. But he found my old copy of BESM that had my name in it and tracked me down that way.

Which was good that he found it now instead of any time over the last 8 years.

Anyway, we reminisced and he told me that our BESM and OWOD games showed him rpgs and that my GMing was really inspiring to him. He fully dove into the White Wolf stuff (this was The Years of the Hunter/Fallen/End Times era) and got really deep into anime/manga as well (even has a podcast for it).

I told him what I was up to (college, job, prison), and that I'm still keeping track of a few games.

That reminded me, while I was inside, there were 2 major games: Pathfinder1 and D&D5 (new release at the time). At least where I was. But I brought in Shadowrun 5, newL5R, attempted Legacy 2nd, and Star Trek. Later, others brought in the Dark Heresy games.

But one thing was that people enjoyed my games. In the military I set up an email mailing list as an off shoot of the WW hunter.net and I've mentioned my Shadowrun screamsheet handouts for Chicago and Seattle.

But I know I got people excited about my games and when I was starting the next one. So has anyone else introduced a new system that really stuck with others or had them use your ideas in their games?

It actually makes me feel like I had a positive impact in someone's life.
