“Due to be delivered today” second time now and not arrived why is this?

I was told my parcel would be delivered on Thursday (28 March) and they gave me a timeframe when they would deliver, and it never arrived.
Today I went on the Royal Mail app and they said it will arrive today (Saturday) with another timeframe.
The time has passed and it still didn't arrive

What is the point of them saying saying "The postie is delivering 1 parcel between" the two times if they're actually not gonna come?
