Ensenada: is it safe?

Seems like Ensenada has had some cartel trouble in the past few months according to many article. I read that RC stopped stopping there for a bit in august. Has anyone been there recently? Was hoping to do a 3rd party winery tour but am now reconsidering. Thoughts?
