Serenade of the Sea delayed again

Post Body

Due to the hurricane, our 9 night cruise has become a 7 night cruise, losing two sea days. Another email was just issued, indicating that boarding will be delayed, and we will not be setting sail until 6pm on Sunday. I am aware that Nature does what Nature does; I am not blaming Royal Caribbean for this unfortunate development, but I am wondering what is reasonable to expect to "make-up" for this development. We had four excursions planned for the original cruise, each being radically different from the other; however, now, we are stuck in Limbo, not even knowing what excursions will be offered. I am a planner and this is driving me nuts. I thought my vacation was planned and ready to go, and now I realize I should have stopped planning as soon as the cruise tickets were purchased.

I know everyone is doing whatever they can do, and I don't even know if it is reasonable to be especially upset, but I am. My vacation has been reduced in length by about 30%. Sure, a pro-rated refund will be issued for the missed days, but if I wanted a six day cruise...

Will any additional amenities be offered? Just the idea of "planning" excursions at the desk, while they theoretically sell-out, sounds like a stress nightmare. How does Royal Caribbean make a person like me willing to come back next year?

Itā€™s very hard to sympathize with you when you want to capitalize on a catastrophic weather event bc you chose to cruise during HURRICANE SEASON.

Right who couldā€™ve predicted a hurricane during hurricane season. Totally out of nowhere.

I guess in the opā€™s defense they said theyā€™re a planner, they didnā€™t say they were good at it.

Yeah, itā€™s almost like itā€™s hurricane season. I guess I forgot that cruises are only available out of the carribean June-October. Never elsewhere nor different times of year. What a great planner you are. You should totally think about being a travel agent given your ability to plan and empathize with others.

For being a ā€œplannerā€ op isnā€™t very good at it tbh.

Dude look at OPā€™s response to someone in the comments. Respectfully, they SUCK.

lol nice word salad to try and dance around admitting that you want handouts. Your post is clear and youā€™ve shown your character in the comments.

Yeah dude, own your shit your comment was vile. You know the one Iā€™m talking about.

lol if you chose to head to Alaska during a blizzard and then expected handouts then yeah Iā€™d say you look just as dumb as you do now. You took a risk and want others to pay you for it. Most sane people know what they signed up for and roll with the punches. Clearly thatā€™s not your style lmfao
