Just boarded the Odyssey and immediately shocked and disappointed. There was trash on the floor of our room, a half empty bottle of water, and the My Time reservations we made before boarding were suddenly âlostâ. The dining reservations guy said âsorry, there are no more reserved times available. Just come back and stand in line.â
This is a very different RC experience since the last time we cruised.
UPDATE: I have internet for a day. Hereâs what happened. We had two minors in an adjoining room when we first booked. At some point my spouse added a third person to their room, who is barely a legal adult, but not a legal (or competent) guardian for our younger minors. RC simply saw the age of the new person and said âgood enoughâ and then switched their room. I wasnât aware that the room was originally booked with just two people, and my wife didnât know when she added the third person it meant theyâd move them. So⌠bad on us for not communicating better with each other, and bad on RC for not informing us they switched the room.
Beyond that, I just donât think Iâm a âcruiseâ person anymore. The ship staff have all been great; but otherwise the whole thing just has a very âHunger Gamesâ feel about it to me. Gluttony, waste and hedonism is the general theme, and I canât escape the feeling that weâre all just fat, drunk and old locusts floating on a leaf. The exhaust fumes belching into the sky as we chug along certainly doesnât help that outlook.
But to each their own.
