Our First Cruise - Lessons Learned
Post Body

Hello all. My wife and I will be going on our first cruise in March on the Oasis of the Seas. Everything has been such a learning curve so far and thought I’d throw something together to share our experiences. 1. There are a lot of hidden expenses. Internet, food options, drink options, excursions, etc. be prepared for those! 2. Maybe we got lucky but we got our passports really quick. Less than 3 weeks without any expedited service. Plan ahead and get passports or required documents early. 3. Check for deals on excursions, drink and food packages, internet, etc. save the emails they send to see what you paid and if something drops in price, refund it and buy at the cheaper price. I think we’ve easily saved over $1000 just doing this. 4. I really wanted early check in so I stayed up refreshing the app until check in became available, slightly after midnight. Make sure you have your boarding documents ready for check in. You’ll need them. As well as a picture against a white background! 5. If you’re booking a hotel the night before boarding day, book it early. All the places I wanted to stay are booked.

I’ll update this as we continue to learn!
