Roommate saying I need to leave. Need Help

A few months ago I was in a bad situation and needed a place to live badly. I found someone who needed a roommate at the time and I took them up on it. I didn't sign any documents or anything and I don't even know the landlord. I just give my roommate my share of the rent each month.
He just told me he has a family member moving in and needs me out in 30 days. I don't know what to do and I don't know what rights I have considering I never signed anything.
If it helps for legal knowledge, im in Michigan.
