I'm looking to visit the Vatican City but the tickets are sold out for the date I will be there.
Do I have to buy the ticket online or will I be able to buy a ticket on the day at the entrance? If so, what is the best time to go to buy it (early morning, the day or night before?)?
Also, what is the "Vatican City - Open Bus"? How is that different from the regular entrance ticket?
I see. For Pompeii, do you know if they're open on 1 May? I can find tickets for them on 1 May but I know it's a holiday so I'm not sure if I should buy it.
Ok, and how long would the wait be typically?
And it's on the official website. https://m.museivaticani.va/content/museivaticani-mobile/en/organizza-visita/servizi-per-i-visitatori/audio-e-videoguide/audioguida-giardini-vaticani-in-open-bus.html
Hi, so the advanced tickets are not necessarily required? What time would you suggest that I go to line up so I don't wait a long time?
Also what's the "Vatican city - open bus" ticket?

No worries I know the Vatican is closed then but is the colosseum closed on 1 May?
According to this website, it's open then: https://www.romewise.com/rome-events-in-may.html
