Coming in 4 weeks time, just booked a few days ago.. Looking on the vatican site most slots are unavailable already for vatican museums and sistine chapel.
Our must do for the kids is the vatican, the coleseum (outside only) and some catacombes. I've been a few weekends before, many years ago and I don't recal having to book much if anything, I think i just wandered around and saw everything. This was a while ago though, I think Pope JP 2 was the boss back then.
Is the vatican a real 'must book' in advance ?
