Staying in Rome in March for a few days before heading off on a cruise. Looking for recommendations for a hotel to stay at, or at least a neighborhoods
We are a very laid back crowd so proximity to bars, clubs, and nightlife is NOT preferred. In fact, we'd rather avoid that. We'll be there Sunday night and Monday night so maybe it wouldn't be too bad anyway.
We'll probably do some sightseeing on Monday, but we're not desperate to be in the middle of the city. We don't mind walking a bit to see the sights, or taking a train/bus.
Ideally, a relatively safe and quiet neighborhood with some decent restaurants and shops within walking distance would be nice. But like I said, I don't need to be right next door to the Colliseum or anything
Prefer an actual hotel. Not a B&B or AirBnb, etc.
Budget is not a huge concern but max is about $400 or so a night. I'm likely booking with reward points/miles so not terribly concerned about cost. I don't need a super fancy place with all the bells and whistles but a nice, clean room and ideally some place with a breakfast would be nice
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated
