The English language is so limited in how we can define love but in Urdu we define love with its extent. عشق holds the utmost value as it’s defined as supreme love. The kind of passion that makes you مجنون (maniacal) for that individual.

Now you’re wondering what that has to do with my title? Well, I had to introduce you to the kind of love that inspires me to be the way I am and the kind of love that twirls in my thoughts.

So there I am standing in front of the bed and he can make out my sparkling eyes and the smiles that tugs on my lips from the moonlight piercing from the curtains. I’ve just done my nightly routine that he patiently waits through, put on my favourite coconut body rub and let my hair loose for bed. The lace trim of the black nightie falls just above the floral tattoos on my thighs and I blush when his gaze grazes the entirety of my figure. When our eyes meet, my heart flutters, he’s sitting up against the bed and the silk sheets are slowly slipping away below his torso, his bare chest in clear view and I’m excited to climb it. It’s not what’s endearing to my eyes that makes my heart leap but it’s the way he gazes at me. This moment stands still in its perfection, the love that speaks in our silence.

His smile with mischief in his eyes playfully ensues his desire for me. I climb from the foot side of bed and the breeze softly blows through my hair exposing my collar bones and the two straps of the nightie with baby bows on them. He invites me to climb into his lap and I do, it’s often that we don’t speak in bed, adapting to movement. His hands move down my hips and I pull my long wavy hair to one side softly but suddenly he thrusts me up against him, my hands quickly fall around his neck for support but before I can make sense of my position he indulges me in a kiss. He deepens it and the butterflies uproar in my stomach. I moan in his mouth and his hands tangle in my hair, holding me firmly.
