Hello! I recently got the bug to start skating again. The last time I rollerbladed was in college in the 90s. I played ice hockey growing up, from like 4 to 15 or 16, so I'm very comfortable on most skates with I'd say intermediate ability.
I've been looking at the differences between 3 and 4 wheel configurations, and I think I'm leaning more towards 3 wheels, because i'm not sure where I'll ride the most, but I feel that 3 wheels will be new, and give me somewhat of an ice skating feel, because they're shorter "blades".
I'm not sure what brands are good. I started making a list based on some YouTube videos and I'm doing a bit more research about what kind of skating I want to do before I order and bite the bullet.
Im a little worried about the 3 wheeled skates, because there's less wheels, and I'm about 250 lbs., and am already 6'2', idk how how up I want to be, and I also worry about that much weight on just three wheels.
Basically, I'm looking for advice on what things to look for in skates. Brandwise, I skated with Bauers back in the day, and had Rollerblade branded Rollerblades, but it seems that the game has changed somewhat, in 20 years.
Looking forward to getting back out there! Thank you in advance for your help! Also, if you need more information to give a better recommendation, I'm around to comment back at you.
Thanks!
