Stopped into Rolex store yesterday. Same place I walked in about 4 months ago and walked out with a 41 DJ blue dial, domed bezel. (Yes I know they're not exactly the most sought after and hardest to get).
Different ADs than last time. Cool guys though. Had zero men watches in. As expected. We chatted for maybe 10 minutes about the typical nonsense. What's hard to get, what's not. How many sky dwellers does he see in comparison to a bat girl. Crap like that.
Anyway he wasn't a douche. He actually said after looking at my DJ on my wrist..."did you buy that here?" I said yes and he said cool. And handed me a card and said just put down your phone number and the watches you want (SD or Batgirl) and since you bought here I can look you up by your phone number and put you in the system. I asked if I'll now be on the wait lists. He said we don't do wait lists here really. If something comes in we will call you or text you.
So I ask seasoned AD denizens...
Ever fill out this card before? What does he mean we really don't do a wait list? But pretty much described a wait list to me. And what are the odds he punched me in "the system"? Whatever the hell that means. Sounds suspect to me.
