Heya. I’m looking to RP and write with someone has some common interests in terms of themes and tribulations. Here are some basic things about me and what I am looking for so as to see if you should read further:
• I’m 30. Prefer new friends around my age.
• Being from Estonia, I live in the GMT 2/UTC 2 timezone, and like to both send and receive posts during the day as well as the evening. Therefore, a similar timezone would be excellent.
• I write on Discord. It's convenient for both RP and chit-chat.
• I only play OCs and would love for you to play OCs as well. Also, RL or anime reference pictures to characters are not at all my thing.
• Exclusively third-person writing. The tense is less important and I can adopt to your style, but I slightly prefer present over past.
• LGBTQ . While I myself lean to playing male characters and prefer contrasting partners in terms of possible pairings, I am not looking to make friends with anyone practicing stances that preach against unconditional equality.
• Mostly I prefer to have the reins and DM/GM the setting around a character (or, possibly, a few) that you control. Small rules and dice rolls are acceptable, but there won’t be any roleplaying system in use. If you are someone who also enjoys laying the scenery, general world-building, controlling the environment, the responsibility can also bounce around.
Here’s a bit more flourish and detail for anyone who found the above to their liking:
With any possible long-term writing partners, it’d be cool to chat and make friends OOC as well. If you’re someone who likes to ramble about our plots and characters or trade pictures of our pets, I think we’ll get along wonderfully.
The post length is a fluid matter. Prompts and scene descriptions, perhaps some emotional or otherwise big moments, feature multiple paragraphs while promptness allows for rapid-fire dialogue and pacy snippets of action. Generally, it is likely that my writing sprawls to the ramblier side of things.
I love literature and poetry. Very often, I incorporate poetry, poetic and philosophical themes to my writing. Expect my OCs to write poems, perhaps to or of your own characters! My favorite book series are Wolf Hall by Hillary Mantel and Discworld by Terry Pratchett. I’ve also loved Les Miserables and Count of Monte Cristo. Out of more contemporary literature, Circe and Visit From the Goon Squad. Will love to both take and give reading recommendations.
Out of my own characters, I like to play (In case of a setting I control, as sort of 'main characters' from my side) both monster-like (or outright monsters, demons) as well as pretty and flamboyant men. If present, I’m very happy to adjust to some level of preference and always have some recommendations of my own. Most of all, I’d like to write with or conduct a setting around a character (or characters) who are industrious and smart. Active. Tragedy is a go, but so is comedy - bring brooding planners or sprightly, silly go-getters!
Out of settings, I am very happy to play anything custom. High fantasy, science fiction, or alternate history with some level of magical realism woven into the latter. We could romp around wastelands and forests with a party of brigands or do-gooders or sail the stars as bounty hunters. Inevitably, of course, some kind of larger-than-life plot will swallow us up. Deep friendships as well as romance, throughout all games, are always adored.
From already existing universes, I’m a bit picky. Elder Scrolls could be nice as I am a fan of the lore and writing there. Generally I’d like something with some grit and detail to it. Settings from movies or anime are not my thing.
If you’re interested in historic fiction (with fantastical elements), I have recently started unraveling a small setting-idea I had. It mostly takes place in a version of 16-th century Europe with Francis I ruling the French and, none other than Henry XVIII the Brits with Thomas More as the Chancellor. The setting heavily involves demons, fiends, and other mythical creatures.
That was a terribly long post. If you got this far and you liked all the sprawling specificity, please feel free to write. Thank you very much for reading and wish you a great day. :]
