I enjoy developing roguelikes, and have a bit of experience under my belt doing so. I would like to work on one in my free time, however there is a catch, the only resource i have is the c9.io IDE. If you haven't heard of it, its a full IDE geared toward web development that runs completely in a browser. (https://c9.io/)
I have come here asking for help in getting started. I would like to make an ascii style nethack/dcss type RL that runs in the console and (hopefully) supports color.
I know the terminals in the IDE will support this, as i can install nethack and it runs, however i dont know how its done. I would like some assistance in setting up an environment to get started, where i can "draw" to the screen using coordinates or something.
Does anybody know of any examples i check out, or some resources i can look into?
thanks
