Some of you might be aware that I'm documenting glyph use throughout roguelikes. When I design, I want to lower the barrier to entry by speaking the common language of roguelikes - namely following ascii conventions if they exist. I find it useful when choosing which glyphs to use during design and development and I hope others can too.
Finding primary sources for glyph usage across roguelikes can be hard. It requires a breadth as well as depth of experience in many roguelikes. I'm most familiar with NetHack which happens to be documented online in a way that is easy to parse. There is some really great ADOM documentation that helped tremendously. Angband, DCSS, Brogue, seem to be less well documented so I had to rely on their sources which are fairly straight forward. I would love to become a seasoned ADOM, Angband, Brogue, and DCSS player, but not to complete this document.
The point is that I want to fill in gaps, fix mistakes, and polish it up. If you have a few minutes, please take a look. If you want to collaborate and feel like another roguelike should be represented, contact me. I'm sure we could work something out.
