I'm very much a beginner at playing the bass. I only started playing about a year ago. While I've definitely improved and can play many songs, I seem to still be having a problem in transitioning to different frets on different strings when it comes to songs that jump around the strings quite a bit.

I think I figured out what some of the problem could be though. I definitely tend to press and pluck way harder than what I should be. I think that this heavy fret pressing and plucking is definitely slowing me down when it comes to songs that require faster transitioning.

Does or has anyone else experienced this issue and if so, what did you do to combat this issue? As much as I try to play lighter, I always tend to go back to pressing too hard.
