Is Uranium legal to have? Someone in the family might have a piece that “fell off a truck back in the 1940s”. It’s a raw yellow ish chalky type rock, how dangerous is it in its raw form if it is? And how long is its 1/2 life if it is? Is 80 years enough for it to be relatively safe to handle? Last time I saw it, it was triple bagged in ziplock bags.
I guess, I’m asking any fast easy way to tell if/what it is, and is it it legal to own in raw form if it is?
I tried to call a college once about it, and they said they could test it, but they would claim it if it was & that it was illegal to own
