Getting better at riding a bike?
Post Body

Any local biking groups that will accept a 17 year old? I recently got a mountain bike so I could ride to school and work. I was the victim of a crime walking before and I figured that would be safer? Idk.

Only problem is I have watched a few tutorials off the internet but I still have trouble with my gears and stuff as I've never ridden a real bike before. Going uphill is physically exhausting despite the fact that I am in good shape and I am forced to resort to pushing the bike uphill once I get half way up.

I really don't know what to do but if anybody knows any bike riding groups I could join or anything, it would be so awesome!

I might start a club at the local Patrick Henry high school but I doubt student interest would come easily. Oh I could add I've been living in Roanoke for about 4 months now.
