Roanoke is supposed to be the Star City. If all that means is we have a lighted star on one of the mountain tops.... that might be rather lame. Here's what I think we need to do: TURN OUT ALL THE LIGHTS!! Roanoke is very unnecessarily overlit at night. Everything is lit up light it's daytime! This creates light pollution making it impossible to see the REAL stars. I understand how lighting deters crime, but we don't need so much excess light. Cut back all those lights and let us see the real stars...not just some lighted contraption on the mountain... which is a poor substitute. Also, that stadium in Salem needs to point its lights toward the ground and not at my house which is 7 miles away. Let's get dark, Roanoke!!!
