Speeding ticket advice

I got a speeding ticket on 220 near boones mill. I was going 62 in a 45 (cruise was set, thought I was in a 55). It was my fault, I am guilty, I learned my lesson.

I live in NC, have a NC drivers license and that’s where my car is registered. But I am in this area often. Is there anything reasonable I can do to try to see that the ticket doesn’t affect my insurance?

Has anyone had luck with a driver’s improvement course? Can I do that preemptively online or do I need to show up in court for the ticket? I know nothing about traffic court or what to expect.

Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

If you’re coming from NC definitely don’t speed between Rocky Mount and Boones Mill. The cops are insane through there
