Hello! Im headed out with my girlfriend to Boulder, CO from Gainesville, GA on September 9th. My plan was to get up early and drive to kansas city on day 1, and stay in a hotel there overnight. Then, from kansas city to Boulder. I have 2 choices for route, I-70 or I-80 west from missouri to colorado. My main concern is which is less boring, which is a tough question. Ive never made this drive before, and havent been through any of Nebraska. Because of this i was debating going to st joseph instead of kansas city, mo which would make it the same time to take either interstate and taking 80 west to colorado instead of the more common 70. Is it worth it to get to the more boring town of st joseph and miss staying in kansas city to take 80 instead of 70? I will no doubt have to take 70 east back when returning, so i was thinking it may be nice to have the variety and ability to say ive been to nebraska as well. Im not looking for anything to do along the way except gas and food.
Thanks for any info, i know this is mostly opinion and theyre both similar trips.
