Are most engineering students unsociable in general?
Post Body

I have finished one year doing engineering at RMIT and so far most of the friends I have made have been from volunteering or people I knew before coming to uni. Although people are friendly enough during group work they have no interest in being friends outside of class. As soon as class is over they just get their phone out and act as if you're a complete stranger. The friends I have made from other courses have told me that people from their classes are more friendly and hang out after class and have group chats.

So far most engineering students (except older students and for some reason civil students) have been very awkward. Even during group projects they act very "professional" instead of friendly.

I want to know if anyone else has experienced this or if it is just me.

There would be a lot of autism floating around. Itโ€™s not that they are unfriendly, itโ€™s just a different way of connecting and also potential difficulties with establishing friendships
