Other Lil' Bits

  • Production Order-wise, this is the 6th episode, but is the 5th Air Date-wise. Do with that info what you will...
  • Title Reference: Before George Lucas was known for Star Wars, he had THX 1138... but also his 1973 gem about high school friends cruising down the strip together for one final night. It's American Graffiti!
  • Love the Clive Barker Hellraiser references. The film was based on Barker's novella, The Hellbound Heart... a story featuring pain, suffering, a puzzle box (Lament Configuration) and the demonic Cenobites.
  • The famous bad in Hellraiser is Pinhead... this episode has Penhead. What other references can you horror aficionados catch?

Discussion Thoughts - (just to get you started) * Is this the "sorry for making Jerry so miserable" episode? * Which is the better song: Evil Things are Happening or Bruce-Chutpants? * Ferris Bueller's Day Off, American Graffiti, Ski School (?)... there was a definite coming of age movie in the Morty/Summer plot right? * Favorite jokes? * So it's cool to not be cool? I'm finally in a good place * Do we want to see more of Rick's ship? When will we get a Rick's Ship's name episode like the episode of Lost where we find out about Jack's tattoo? * Best/Worst parts? * That was the 5th of 10 episodes, where does this one rank so far (Episode 7 doesn't count, you pirates)? * The Yello's "Oh Yeah" as a karaoke song HAS to be the worst ever, right? * What burning thoughts or questions do you have or want to share? Put them in the comments below!

Honestly I liked parts of the episode but the end credits scene is what sold the whole episode for me hearing Dan Harmon sing "He ain't got slacks and thems the facts" and then seeing Chut get the shit kicked out of him by the mailbox people made me laugh harder than I thought I would not my all time favorite episode but a fairly solid entry nonetheless.

"He ain't got slacks and thems the facts"

Proceeds to get his ass kicked by the mailbox people

I laughed waaaaaay harder than I thought I would.

Overall pretty eh episode but it had it's moments definitely.
