Welp, NOD was a bust this year
Post Body
At least 3 people were arrested, one tased.
About 15 or more got hospitalized
Got shut down by 12:15 because they ran out of ambulances (they used up all of REMS and contract ambulances to the point where they had to contact the fire departments and use theirs)
They also decided to add an extra line this year to get into commons.

Over drinking is indeed a major issue, but it also comes from admin/college committees not wanting to dedicate the resources to create more effective training or allocate more resources to publics. I was one of the campus-wide caregivers for two years and it was like pulling teeth to get the colleges to get supplies for the caregiver stations (the other CC was also in REMS and had similar issues with REMS getting support). Beer Bike my senior year (2022) was disastrous: little to no covered spaces, little coordination with caregivers (I think REMS had better luck but still little coordination), limited water … and the training is so stupidly outdated and unhelpful but admin was super inflexible with changing or updating information. It’s like, guess what? If you don’t invest the time/resources in your students (most of which are sheltered young adults experimenting with alcohol and their freedom away from home), you’ll start having issues. I’m sure there’s also some cultural changes that are happening on-campus but I’m a little less in tune with that.
