Post Body

My mom was diagnosed about 10 years ago, and has supposedly tried every single treatment on the market since then, and hasn’t had any results at all from any of them. The only thing that helps is steroids, but long term use has predictably caused a lot of damage to her body. Her rheumatologist no longer has any advice other than to take even more steroids, and won’t answer any questions or refer her for experimental treatments. She has been trying to find a new doctor, but hasn’t had much luck. I don’t see that she has many years left. We’re very close, and at 25 years old I don’t know anyone else in the process of losing a parent. I’m completely lost and have no idea if there’s anything at all I can do for her. I guess I am just posting here to vent to people who understand, and if anyone has any advice or kind words it would really mean the world to me
