Like the title says, I'm graduating in december and I have no idea what I should do. I've found a pretty strong desire to do RF in some form, I find the frequency domain infinitely fascinating. The issue is, at my school, we don't really have a good undergraduate program in RF. At the graduate level, we have a ridiculous amount of opportunities, but those aren't available to me (damn GPA.) Since our RF work is so minimal, I didn't get a good idea of what I wanted to do until a few months ago, which really killed my ability to guide my work/spare time into the field.
Now, I've tried to get my hands dirty anyway. I'm currently taking a Radio Engineering class, I've got an independent study dedicated entirely to Software Defined Radio, and I'm also an undergraduate research assistant on an RF Front End project, where I am doing all the testing and documentation. Even with all that, I don't feel like I have a place. I was browsing jobs at places like Qualcomm to see what they want in a new grad and I couldn't find anything that fit my work beyond the generics of my degree. Once specifics get involved, it's all outside my work.
Now, I don't expect to get into a place like Qualcomm, most of those companies have pretty high GPA minimums, but I'd still like to know where I should even be looking. There is so much out there in the RF field, where should I be aiming?
TL;DR - new grad, RF/SDR interests, crap GPA, where job?
