Going back to the Switch after a month playing RP3+

Post Body

I was never a handheld gamer. As a kid, I exclusively played consoles. I had one or two handhelds, but to me- why would I play on a small screen, when I had a TV?

Obviously that was missing the point of a handheld, but I never did get into them.

Then the Switch came out, and I bought it to use exclusively as a docked console. But I ended up playing it as a handheld a few times- power outage, on a drive, outside. I ended up liking it, but got annoyed by the limited game selection and the price of Switch games.

I had some emulation experience on a PC a few years ago, so I started looking into small PCs, then I found out about Retroids, and I decided to give it a shot.

I've been playing on my RP3 for a month or so now, and I decided to try and play on my Switch for the first time since I got the RP3 today, and.... It kind of sucked.

I like the ergonomics less- the Retroid with grips is easier to hold. The Retroid is lighter. And, this may be a controversial opinion, but the joystick on the Switch feels way too loose to me compared to the Retroid.

I think the Retroid could use a slightly larger screen (maybe Switch Lite size?), but I'm surprised how much I prefer it to the Switch.

Anyone else have a similar experience? Prefer one to the other?
