Yes, 36 is not terribly old, yes, there are people who are still incredible at games no matter their age and yes, it's entirely possible I was never particularly good at games to begin with.

But I've definitely come to realize that certain dreams I've had about finishing hard action/platforming games of the 8 and 16 bit era will just never happen. The other night I was playing Mega Man 3 and Magnet Man, the very first boss, was giving me too much trouble. Even after a couple dozen attempts, with the patterns memorized, my reflexes were just not up to the task.

Ten years ago I was able to at least get to the final boss of most NES Mega Man games, even if I've never beat one. Anyone else ever go through this? I have plenty of other interests and there are a lot of less twitchy games I can still play and enjoy, but the realization that my motor skills are only going to deteriorate kinda makes me sad.
