CRT vs Upscaled HDMI LCD for old Nintendo consoles

Post Body

Hi,

I'm currently expanding my console collection and am looking to add a SNES, N64 and GCN to my collection. They'll mostly be used to play (and capture/record/stream!) their respective Mario Kart games, but I'll be casually playing more mainline nintendo games on them. Currently I only own to very modern flat HDMI-monitors. I've been looking at ways to hook those consoles up to these monitors and things look complicated and expensive but I'm considering buying a RAD2X. Another thought that crossed my mind is just getting a CRT, but I'd love to know if people have experience with the difference between these? Which do you prefer and how much do they differ. Things to consider are that all my consoles are PAL and not modded. I currently own a modern hdmi elgato capture card, so getting a CRT would force me to buy another capture card too.
