Is retroid pocket 3+ worth getting?

Hi all,
Thinking of getting a nice handheld console to play some retro games on and thought the RP 3 looked really good considering it could potentially play up to GameCube games. Is it really hard to get working or relatively easy ? Just keen to get thoughts on whether a noob can get into it (I've modden my mini snes) so not totally clueless lol . Also Any comments on similar or alternative hardware let me know :)
