Past performance doesn’t always tell future performance

Post Body

Past performance is an indicator of future performance is something we always hear and it has a twisted double meaning if you have RJ. But the key term in that sentence is “an”, meaning its not the only thing. Let me explain:

You have a business you want to invest in but its trash, always loses money, cant keep clients or staff, overspends and mismanages money and has no intentions of changing how things are run; you’d look at that and say there is no way in hell I’m investing in that even if I could turn a profit…….its a loser

Then you have a business with the same track record but over the years they have made changes here and there to the point it looks completely different and functions better now. Does it change how they used to run the business? No, but they also dont conduct business the way they used to.

What I’m saying is, your partners past is not the only part of the equation. The present has a little more weight on the future than the past does. Pay attention to their behaviors now, their attitudes now, their thought process now. If it’s still trash or suspect, GET RID OF THEM. If it seems functional and satisfactory, maybe try making the investment.

If you are still scared of her past or you have some insecurities remember “ scared money dont make money”. Despite all the positive changes you think they are too much of a risk, remember “High risk, High rewards”.
