For context, I am 4ā11ā (150cm) and Asian. There is a manager with my name and so they donāt differentiate which person they are talking about when they call on the walkie.
I was on my break and I had something someone needed. My manager said on the walkie that āLittle [my name] has it.ā It felt weird being called that but I have always dealt with being called little or small or tiny all my life.
A coworker who i work with a lot to talked to the manager about it and said it isnāt right to call me little just because of my physicality. Then my coworker talked to me about how they spoke up because they shouldnāt label someone a certain way because they are a different ethnicity than white. Also we canāt use our last name initial or āassociateā āmanagerā to differentiate coworkers with the same name.
And it got me thinking and confused how to feel. Christmas is soon so I have three days off thankfully, much needed.
What do you think about what happened?
