I am 19M, I transfer between two different stores in the same company. I work at one store (#1) over summer, and winter break, and work at the other (#2) during college.
I started at #1 almost 2 years ago, so I'm no newbie, but the people at #2 don't all know I've been working for a while, I've worked maybe 4 months there total, but in the evenings. So I always look like a new face, a new employee, someone who doesn't know what they're doing
It's sucks. I get talked to like I don't know shit, they mansplain things to me, hate on me for not "knowing anything". Today, I got talked to like I'm an idiot for putting a piece of clothing away in the wrong spot, yes that was my bad, but they looked almost identical. But the right response would've been "hey I think those actually go there" instead of what I got, which was "those don't go there! Don't you see the difference! This one has a button! You have to look at all the details! Don't you know how to do this!" While grabbing the clothing from my hands, and aggressively fixing where I was going to put it.
Like I get retail sucks, but we're always going to be short staffed if this is how you treat people, like bro come on. Whenever I train people or correct them, I hope I do it nicer, I don't think I'm as rude as this individual was. But I can't know for sure
I hope your day was better than mine! This shitty interaction just ruined my day, that was going relatively well smh
