[USA] I spent 2 years in a cross-functional new-grad rotational program in the tech industry. Of the roles, only 2/5 were particularly relevant to my targeted career path in-the long term. As such, it's harder to frame the other assignments in an impactful way, in contrast to more recent work and slightly older work that I was doing alongside uni.
It doesn't feel beneficial to list the extra roles, but omitting them leaves an 8 month gap. I spent 4-5 months in each role, so I could only accomplish so much for each assignment. My impact in each role (especially the listed ones) was meaningful, but if I botched the dates to reflect nearly a year in each and close the gap, it would seem like I didn't accomplish much for the time spent there.
What are the thoughts on leaving a gap (immediate subsequent entry is with the same company) or adding a one line "other rotations date-date"? How would you approach this?
