Hi everyone.
I am 30 m. I am an immigrant to Canada and has been doing housekeeping for 10 years now. Was a housekeeping supervisor at a hotel in BC for 4 years prior to Covid 2020 and has been working at a hospital in AB Canada since the pandemic. Will be working at the hospital for 3 years now as of July 2023
I would like to go to a trade school here in Edmonton as an apprentice car mechanic. I do not have any prior experience in that field but I have to convince someone to hire me. I canโt go to school full time or even do the pre- employment one year course that the university is offering. Iโve got a household to run and life is getting harder here.
My highest level of education is High School with over 90% in most of my subjects ( i did an education equivalency assessment- IQAS Canadian Education Assessment Credentials Certificate) I am someone with excellent work ethic. Never did a no call no show. I have amazing recommendation letters from my previous jobs. Have been grinding since very young to support my family and myself. Could never go to university because of financial struggles. But now that I am in Canada, I would like to enjoy the amazing education facilities they have.
I would be grateful if you guys could please guide me on what to write on my cover letter or resume so that someone can see how hardworking I am and how capable I am. I need them for hire me to get me out of my current situation. Thanks
