Today at work I dropped a dish and barely cut my finger picking it up, but it was bleeding so I wanted it to stop. When I asked where the first aid kit was I was told that we don't have one and I would have to go to security to file an incident report if I really wanted one. Who has time for that during a dinner rush? What kitchen doesn't have a first aid kit? People give themselves minor burns and cuts all the time, and it's hardly ever a big enough deal to warrant filing a report
Yeah definitely, maybe there was someone in the past who had a serious injury and didnt report it so they wanted to be on the safe side and make everyone file one. Every place is different though, I sliced my finger open pretty good at my last job and filed a report and my manager actually got mad at me because it cost the store 1500
Very strange! Its sucks when they dont have the basics available for people, because eventually someone is going to cut themselves and you dont want them bleeding everywhere. It should be a health code violation not to have one in the kitchen. I'm going to have to make my own kit for right now too
I wonder what purpose that serves, it just seems easier for everyone to have a basic first aid kit sitting around. I'm getting together a makeshift one to hide haha.

Yeah, cuts and burns happen, people hurt themselves on the stupidest things too, like the serrated edge of plastic wrap. Obviously whoever came up with that rule doesnt work in a kitchen. Good idea! I'm getting together a kit thatll be enough for other people too if they hurt themselves, because f corporate
